Algae and bacteria control is achieved through the introduction of mineral copper ions via an ionization process.

When sunlight hits the solar panel located on the top face of the Purisolar, it generates a very low, completely harmless voltage, which energizes a copper electrode located in the submerged part, starting the ionization process.

Thus, the ions produced are mixed with water and dispersed throughout your pool. These ions are safe and non-toxic, but both microorganisms and algae cannot survive in their presence.

Unlike chlorinated products that lose their effectiveness very quickly through evaporation, cause skin and eye irritation, produce strong odors, and damage your clothing, the ions produced by this device remain effective for weeks or more, are completely non-toxic, and odorless.

Some contaminants common in most pools, such as oils and lotions, are not affected by these mineral copper ions and tend to cloud the water. Therefore, a small amount of chlorine is necessary to maintain water clarity; generally, 10 to 20% of what is normally recommended for your pool will be more than sufficient to remove these contaminants during periods of peak pool usage.
