Brunton-type Pocket Transit 5000 Geological Compass

The Pocket Transit 5000 Brunton-type geological compass is a high-performance, state-of-the-art tool. It is the updated version of the ref. 2539 DQL-8 type compass, featuring a super-magnetic needle and constructed from anti-submersion material, meaning it is equipment that will float if dropped in water. It also has two bubble levels visible from the outside of the instrument. In addition to providing precise information, the GEO Pocket Transit Compass has a composite body (made of high-impact plastic). It is water-resistant, providing greater durability. It is the geologist's faithful companion. Its unique NdFeB needle is resistant to demagnetization, which is better than other types of needles for reliable readings. Its azimuth accuracy is ± ½º, with 1º graduations. The clinometer accuracy is ± ½º, with 1º graduations and a reading capability of 10 minutes. Its vertical angle measurements are 70% of the grade. The clinometer percentage scale has 5% increments. The needle is induction-damped for quick and accurate readings; the sapphire bearing allows for smooth needle movement, and the adjustable magnetic declination to the East or West allows for adjustments up to 180º. It has sights for short or long sightings, for greater precision in azimuth or vertical angle sightings. Its mirror is precisely aligned with the sighting hole; the composite body is permanently impregnated with the compass color; it has rubber O-rings for sealing to make it resistant to water and humidity.
